What makes up my credit score?

Your credit score is made up of many factors that can be broken down into 5 major categories. The breakdown is 35 percent payment history, 30 percent debt to available credit ratio, 15 percent length of credit history, 10 percent new credit applications and 10 percent type of credit being used. How do I know if my credit score is good?

The most recent data from the Experian National Score Index℠ reports the average credit score in the United States is 687. People with excellent credit will have a score between 700-850. Those with good credit fall between 650-699, people with fair credit are 600-649, and those in the bad credit range are 300-599. If you want to know your three credit scores, contact AmOne today and we can help you.

How do I improve a credit score?

The most important thing to understand is that there is no quick fix. If you have errors on your credit report, you can have them removed in about 30 days, which may improve your score depending on your situation. However, if everything is accurate the only way to improve your credit situation is to have a history of on time payments and a mix of good standing accounts including unsecured loans, credit cards, and secured loans. What is my credit score used for?

Your credit score is used for many reasons, which include applying for credit, a new apartment, or even a new job. Your credit score shows your credit risk to a potential lender. The higher your score, the lower the risk you are for a creditor. Your credit score is primarily used to determine how much and at what interest rate a lender will offer you money. If you are looking for the best rate and term on a loan, find your best loan option here.

Does everyone use the same credit score?

The quick answer is a no. The FICO score is the most common score used by creditors nationwide. However, there are other types of scores such as the Vantage Score. The score a particular organization uses is completely up to that company. Creditors may also use different calculations of your score depending on the type of financing you may be seeking. A FICO score used for a mortgage is different from a FICO score used for an auto loan or credit card.

What is the process?

Everything begins when you provide the information requested on our website or by calling us toll-free at 1-800-781-5187. If you submit your information during our regular business hours of Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST, you can expect a call from one of our experts within an hour. On this first call, an AmOne representative will explain how we can help and will answer any questions you may have. The next steps will depend on your situation and which path you decide to take. Most loan options AmOne will connect you with offer same day decisions. This means you could be minutes away from knowing where you stand.

What credit requirements do you have?

Credit requirements will vary depending upon which loan program is best suited for you. Our goal is to provide loan options for all types of credit situations.

Do you have loan programs for less than perfect credit?

The quick answer is yes. We do have loan solutions for consumers and small businesses with less than perfect credit. While AmOne cannot guarantee you'll be approved for a loan, we will still connect you with the highest rated options best suited for your unique situation.

Do you offer loans outside the U.S.?

No, at this time we can only assist clients who reside in the United States.

What if I don't qualify for a loan?

The best part about working with us is that even if you don't immediately qualify for a loan, we have a dedicated team of credit experts that can work with you to find alternative ways that may still be able to help someone in your situation.

What is unsecured debt?

The term unsecured means no collateral was required for this type of financing. A good example of an unsecured debt would be a credit card or unsecured loan, where you do not need to put up an asset as collateral for approval. An example of a secured debt would be a mortgage or auto loan.

What are the different ways I can manage my debt?

There are primarily five ways to manage your existing debt. You can continue to pay down your debt without making any changes; you can try to get a debt consolidation loan that can possibly roll all of your payments into one payment; you can use credit counseling (also known as debt management); you can hire a debt settlement company to negotiate down your debts with your creditors; or you can file for bankruptcy protection. If you want to know which is best for your situation, you can read more about debt here or you can give us a call toll free at 1-800-781-5187.

How does debt consolidation work?

There are two types of debt consolidation, payment consolidation and balance consolidation. Payment consolidation just means you only have to make one payment each month. This can be accomplished through a loan or by enrolling into a debt management program. A balance consolidation is when you take many smaller bills and combine them into one larger bill. This can only be accomplished through a loan or credit card balance transfer. To find your best debt consolidation option, contact us today.

Are debt consolidation companies reputable?

As with any type of industry, there are good and bad players. If you are interested in finding a reputable and trustworthy company that can assist you with your debt consolidation goals, please give us a call today. We can help you find the company best suited to your needs, and one that you can trust.

Can I file bankruptcy without an attorney?

As an individual, you can file bankruptcy without the representation of an attorney; however, it can be extremely difficult to do so successfully. The rules of filing bankruptcy are technical, and missteps are very possible if you're doing things on your own. Bankruptcy has long-term financial implications and legal consequences, so we highly recommend you hire a competent attorney before taking any action. Because most consultations are free, you have nothing to lose by talking to a reputable attorney in your area. Learn more about the different types of personal bankruptcy here.
